How RV Courier Services, Inc. handles the data of people who send and receive documents and packages with us.
Last updated: October 29, 2026 · Version 2026-10-29
01Who is responsible
The controller of your data is RV Courier Services, Inc. (“RV Courier”), with an office at 2855 University Av. Apto 6A Bronx, NY 10468. For any privacy matter, email [email protected] or call +1 9293752165.
02What data we collect
- About the sender: name, phone number and, if you provide them, email and address. We may ask to see an ID to verify who is shipping.
- About the recipient: name, phone number, delivery address in the Dominican Republic and, when customs requires it, their national ID (cédula), passport or tax ID (RNC). If you give us someone else’s details, make sure you may share them with us for this purpose.
- About the shipment: type, description of the contents, declared value, weight, RV reference and the carrier’s tracking number.
- Delivery address and location: the destination address you confirm (street, neighborhood, city, province, directions and instructions) and, if you mark a point on the map, its coordinates. If you press “Use my current location”, your browser asks for permission and we get your location once to suggest an address: it is approximate, we do not track you, and the point is only saved if you confirm the address. We also keep the addresses you add to “My addresses”.
- Documents you give us: invoices, permits and other documents the shipment or customs require.
- Custody record: drop-off, inspections, openings, repacking, incidents, status changes and handover to the carrier, with the date and the employee involved, and any photos of the shipment we take to document them.
- About your online account: name, email, language, notification preferences and password (stored using a hash function, never readable).
- Acceptances: the version of the terms, the shipping policy and this policy that you accepted or confirmed having read, and each sender’s declaration, with date, time, language and the text of the box. We do not store the IP address for this.
- Transaction history: requests, shipments, charges, invoices and notices sent.
- About payments: amount, status, date and method. Card details are processed by Stripe; RV Courier never receives or stores them.
- Security records: sign-in date, IP address and browser, and an internal log of relevant actions taken on the platform.
03How we use it and on what basis
- Providing the service you contract (receiving, registering, weighing, labeling, handing to the carrier, reporting status, charging and invoicing): because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- Customs clearance and legal compliance (information required by Dominican customs, U.S. authorities and tax laws): because the law requires it.
- Shipment security, identity verification and fraud prevention (inspections, custody records, security records): based on our legitimate interest, and our customers’, in a safe service, and when the law requires it.
- Delivery address and point: so the carrier can find the address in the Dominican Republic, where many have no number; because it is necessary to perform the contract. Your device location is only used if you press the button, and never to track you.
- Record of acceptances: to prove which version you accepted and when, based on our legitimate interest and to perform the contract.
- Email notices about your shipments: to perform the contract; you can turn off non-essential ones in “My account”.
04Who we share it with
Only with those needed to provide the service or comply with the law. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
- External carrier: the data and documents needed to carry, clear and deliver the shipment.
- Authorities: the Dominican Republic’s Customs Office (DGA) and U.S. authorities (customs, transportation security or tax) when the law requires it or in response to a valid request.
- Partner agencies: if you drop off your shipment at an RV Courier partner agency, that agency records and sees its customers’ and shipments’ data.
- Technical providers that process data only on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (network and site protection) and Contabo (servers that run the platform).
- Address search and maps: when you search for an address or use your location, our server sends the search text or the point to an address search service (currently Photon, with OpenStreetMap data), without your name, email or IP address. When a map is shown, your browser downloads the map images from the map provider (currently OpenStreetMap), which sees your IP address like any website; it uses no cookies.
05International transfers
The service connects the United States and the Dominican Republic, so each shipment’s data is shared between both countries. In addition, some technical providers may process data in other countries (for example, in the European Union). We choose providers that offer adequate safeguards and only share what is needed.
06What is public
Tracking by RV reference shows only statuses and dates: never names, phone numbers, addresses or internal comments. Your account only shows the shipments linked to your customer record, and linking requires a code we give you in person.
08How long we keep it
We keep each piece of data for as long as it is needed for its purpose:
- Shipments, payments, invoices and custody records: while the service is provided, while claims may arise and for the periods required by tax and customs law.
- Records of acceptance: while your account exists and while they may be needed as proof of the agreement.
- Security records: for a limited time, as needed to protect accounts and investigate incidents.
When they are no longer needed, we delete or anonymize them. If you close your account, we stop using your sign-in data.
09How we protect it
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords stored using a hash function, role-based staff access, an internal log of relevant actions and an acceptance history that cannot be altered. No system is infallible: if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
10Your rights
Under applicable law, you can ask us to access your data, correct it, delete it when it is no longer needed, or object to a specific use. Email [email protected]; we will reply within a reasonable time, and within any period set by law, and may ask you to confirm your identity. We must keep some data even if you ask us to delete it, when the law requires it.
From “My account” you can change your password and turn off email notices.
11Minors
The service and online accounts are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
12Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its date and version number. If the change is significant, we will also let you know in your account and ask you to confirm you have read it.
